Born in Kota Bharu, Kelantan and had early education at Convent Bukit Nanas. She pursued reading law at University of Liverpool and graduated in 1985 with Honours. She successfully completed her CLP at University of Malaya in 1986.
 
She completed her cambering at Messrs T.Selvarasan & Co and called to the Bar on 22 August 1987.
 
She then pursued her career with Messrs.Othman Hashim & Chan as a Legal Assistant. She managed civil litigation matters covering accident matters, land transaction, specific distress, vacant possession, bankruptcy and winding up petition, eviction application, banking, debt collection, traffic offences, labour disputes and petty criminal matters. During her tenure, she also appeared for contentious litigation matters before Supreme Court.
 
In June 1989, she joined Messrs. Rozali Ismail & Co as Senior Legal Assistant in the Litigation Department. She also asked to handle conveyancing matters and entrusted with Corporate Department. Selvi then together with Puan Nor’Adha bt Abdul Hamid established Messrs.Adha Selvi & Associates in 1995. In 2015 she had the privilege to work with Sharina as her partner. Now, she is actively heading the Litigation department and handling contentious litigation matters. She also assists the conveyancing department when the need arises. Selvi also heads the Corporate Department with her assistances. It has always been her belief and principal that has been engraved by her father that the word impossible doesn’t exist, but it should be read as “I’m possible”. 
 
This has always been a motto and driving force for her to ensure all works under her care and wings shall be completed to her best of task. Her notable other assignments include, among others:
 
1.Represented corporate companies in arbitration conducted at the Kuala Lumpur Regional for Arbitration
2.Advised and represented Developers on late payment interest charges
3.Advised and represented corporate companies in claiming for illegal tapping waters and other ancillary claims.
4.Advised and represented corporate companies in respect of trespassing matters
5.Advised and represented individual clients for specific performance and injunction on copyright products
6.Advised, represented and protected our corporate clients on scam property transaction by third parties.
7.Acted for corporate companies and individuals in claiming outstanding rentals and repossessing client’s premises.
8.Acted for corporate companies in complicated land matters against squatters and eventually secured the land for clients.
9.Assisted FINANCIAL institution in advising on extraction of lost titles and another corporate or commercial issues faced by the Financial institution.
10.Able to convince LHDN to reduce and or renegotiate for the clients on the computation of Real Property Gains Tax payable.
11.Assisted clients to reduce the stamp duty payable in respect of top up loan facilities.
